Developmental Language Disorder Course (DLD) - Online

About Course:

This course aims to equip speech ang language pathologists and students with a clear understanding of Developmental Language Disorders (DLD). Participants will learn the definition of DLD and learn evidenced based comprehensive evaluation methods for these children’s language skills in order to carefully outline their deficits profile. Furthermore, participants will learn proper planning of therapy goals within individualized sessions, group-based sessions and multidisciplinary based sessions based on best practice recommendations.

Course Objective:

  • Understand the nature, identification, and impact of Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) across childhood and adolescence.
  • Apply comprehensive assessment approaches to support accurate diagnosis and clinical decision-making in DLD.
  • Interpret assessment findings to identify language strengths, needs, and severity levels.

Dr. Nusaiba Sallam

Dr. Nusaiba Sallam is a Speech-Language Pathologist with extensive clinical and academic expertise in pediatric communication disorders and evidence-based intervention. She is currently completing her PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Ottawa, Canada, and serves as the Clinical Director of Takhaob Center for Speech Therapy and Rehabilitation in Amman. Dr. Sallam brings over a decade of hands-on experience in assessment, diagnosis, and intervention planning across diverse clinical and educational settings. She is trained in internationally recognized Hanen Programs and is well known for her strengths in comprehensive evaluation, clinical reasoning, and family-centered practice. Dr. Sallam is actively involved in professional training, supervision, and mentorship of speech-language pathologists, delivering training experiences that effectively bridge research evidence with real-world clinical application.
